Art Contest Winners

Students in the Sussex Avenue School participated in an art contest with their teacher, Mrs. Ossanna. The contest was hosted by the Community Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Morris, The Neighbor News and The Daily Record.

The artists were asked to illustrate a poster that showed a healthy activity they could engage in instead of drugs, as the contest was called, "What Is Your Anti-drug?" The contest was county wide through the three grade levels. Sussex School is extremely proud to say that we had six artists place in this large arena.

In third grade Rossie Pineda came in second place and Liana Kardaras took third place. In fourth grade, Grace Talbert came in second place. We totally rocked the fifth grade category by taking all three places! First place was Julia King, second place was Anna Hess and third place went to Eric Ma.

We are very proud of each and every student who entered the contest and showed the magnitude of activities they can engage in to say "No" to drugs and "Yes" to creativity!
